Percutaneous Tricuspid Valve: First in U.S.

For the first time in the U.S., a doctor performed a minimally invasive tricuspid valve replacement, placing the valve outside of the heart. Henry Ford Hospital's William O'Neill, MD, the interventional cardiologist who performed the procedure, which was pioneered in Germany, on July 31 on a patient who was not a candidate for traditional open valve repair. Here he talks about the procedure.
